Consolidating does not necessarily help your credit score. If it will help you get your bills paid off, then I think it would be worth it. Make sure you are making payments every month. As far as building your credit without being approved for a credit card or loan, open a secured credit card. You give the bank money as collateral, they give you the card. Put a small balance on the card and make payments every month. You will notice your score beginning to climb. Also, get a copy of your credit report. Dispute any information that may be reported incorrectly.

maybe buy a used car from a lot with a written agreement that they will report your purchase and payments to credit agencies?…i bought a toy from one of these places that i paid 150 a week to until the vehicle was paid off. i asked them to report it, i never missed a payment, but they never did…i think if i had gotten them to in writing it would have boosted my score….somebody check this please.

I recommend you call a local credit restoration company. They should have some programs for you.

Had the same problem.
Borrow money and then pay it back. You can borrow big amounts without credit if you agree to just hold it in your account until you give it back, with Trade Capital Company. I did it to re-establish credit. Took about 2 months to show up, and about 7 months for the full effect Works though.

Your credit score or FICO score affects your entire life and is one of the most important things to take care of. It determines how likely you are to pay back a loan. This number is generated through a series of records kept in your credit file over a lifetime. The reason this score is so important is that it determines what type of rates that will be available for you as a borrower.
There are three main credit bureaus that collect and maintain consumer credit information Equifax, Experian and Transunion.
Here are some of the basic steps on how to improve and maintain a healthy credit score.
Step One: Use credit cards! But make sure you make payments on time.
Step Two: Keep balances low.
Step Three: Pay your bills before they are due.
Step Four: Do not sign up for more credit cards than you need.
Step Five: A closed account does not just disappear. Make sure that there are no payments left with the account before it is closed.
