Too bad these people can&#039;t take a few moments to research their answers.

While it is true that having too high of a credit limit will hurt your score, having low credit limits also reflects the fact that creditors  to not trust you and are afraid to offer you credit.  That will also have a negative impact.

Therefore, you do need to request higher credit limits.  Just don&#039;t overdo it.  There is no reason for someone making $50k a year to have $100k in credit limits!
